The wrought iron work on the Eastgate clock was formed by Mr.James.Swindly.
When he died he passed all the formers of the East gate clock to his son Percy Swindly. Percy Swindly was very good friends with a gentleman called Ronald Powell who is also my grandfather.
Percy said to his daughter when I die I would like Ronald to have the formers to the Eastgate clock and also the anvil.
Ronald has still got all the formers and the anvil.
Percy also taught Ronald how to use the black smith tools.
One day the formers and the anvil could be worth a lot of money, my grandfather plans to pass down all the tools and the anvil in his will.
